This week I started to work on my substance designer materials for the slice project.
Getting to grips with substance designer at first was very complicated. But after tinkering with different nodes and experimenting with different noises and grunge maps, the overall workflow is quite easy to grasp.
One useful thing I discovered was you can use your first couple of nodes, which define your original shape or pattern or material, can also be used in other nodes, say if you have an Ambient Occlusion, you could use these same nodes on the Normal node which will reflect the depth.

After look at these resources and self experimentation, I have found it a lot easier to work with substance designer.
