3D Games production (Week 4)

This week for 3D, I wanted to focus on making my props for the scene.

I know what I was going for, detailed in my reference.

For more organic objects, such as my plant pot and tree, I made the base meshes in Max, then I imported them in to Zbrush to sculpt. I used Zspheres to create my tree then re-topologised it in max.

For more hard surface objects, I just created whatever high poly workflow I needed within Max - then baked down the detail in substance painter.

The hard surface was much easier to achieve because I didn't have to re-topologise any of the props - taking this into account, for the high poly of certain props like the air conditioner, I baked down separate details, like the fan and grate to create the illusion of depth.

I placed all the props over each other in a cage file after I unwrapped the UVs so I could paint all the props at once on to the texture sheet, maintaining texture consistency.
